JD Vance Says Iran Rejects US Deal

JD Vance Confirms No Agreement Reached In US Iran Talks

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – JD Vance stated that no final agreement could be reached with Iran, as Tehran declined to accept key US conditions during the recently concluded talks in Islamabad. Speaking at a press briefing, he emphasized that despite prolonged negotiations, differences between the two sides remained unresolved.

He expressed appreciation for the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif and Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging their role in facilitating dialogue. Vance noted that Pakistan made sincere attempts to bridge gaps between Washington and Tehran, adding that any shortcomings in the talks were not due to the host country.

Pakistan Iran Agree To Strengthen Economic Cooperation In Talks

According to Vance, discussions with the Iranian delegation lasted around 21 hours, during which multiple issues were addressed. He said the United States participated in the negotiations in good faith and presented what he described as its “final and best offer.” However, Iran chose not to accept the proposed terms, leading to the conclusion of talks without a deal.

He further highlighted that Washington is seeking clear assurances regarding Iran’s nuclear program, stressing that preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a top priority for the US administration. While outlining US red lines, he added that some areas were open to flexibility, but key conditions were non-negotiable.

Earlier, Iranian officials had indicated that despite unresolved differences, dialogue could continue, suggesting that diplomatic engagement between the two sides may not be entirely over.
