Israel rejects UN commission’s Gaza genocide report as misinformation campaign

A UN inquiry says Israel kept committing genocidal acts in Gaza after the ceasefire, while Israeli officials call the report false and biased.

Israel – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – Israel rejects UN commission’s latest report, which says Israel kept committing genocide in Gaza even after last October’s US-brokered ceasefire. The report was published on Monday.

Israel’s mission in Geneva said the report is part of a misinformation campaign. It says the aim is to blacken the name of the Jewish state.

The report comes from the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel. It looks at harm to Palestinian civilians, including children, from October 7, 2023 to September this year.

The commission says Israeli authorities continued “genocidal acts” with the intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, in whole or in part. It also says the situation in the occupied West Bank has grown worse.

Last September, the same commission found that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza. It also said top Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had incited such acts. Israel called those claims scandalous.

Fighting during the ceasefire

The commission says Israeli forces kept using heavy weapons, drones, artillery and sniper fire in crowded areas of Gaza during the truce.

It also warned about the “Yellow Line”, a ceasefire marker that was meant to be temporary. The report says the line keeps moving deeper into Gaza and is turning into a de facto border.

Palestinian authorities say more than 74,000 people have died in Israel’s war on Gaza. The war began after Hamas-led fighters killed about 1,200 people in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.

Concerns over the West Bank

The report says deaths from airstrikes in the West Bank have risen sharply. It counts six between 2008 and October 6, 2023, and 254 between October 7, 2023 and September 30, 2026.

It also says military raids and settler violence form a widespread and systematic attack on civilians. The commission accuses Israel of crimes against humanity, including extermination, torture and sexual violence.

Commission Chair Srinivasan Muralidhar said the killing of civilians and destruction of homes are part of a wider plan to push Palestinians out. The report says 34,176 Palestinians remained displaced as of August 2026.

The commission also criticised the Palestinian Authority. It says the authority targeted people who spoke against it, and that journalists and rights defenders were hurt or killed.

Israeli Ambassador Daniel Meron said the commission is trying to weaken Israel’s legitimacy. He urged the world to reject the findings.
