Israel launches pre‑emptive strike on Iran, explosions heard in Tehran

Israel’s pre-emptive strike on Iran escalates Middle East tensions, threatening diplomacy and raising global concerns over nuclear conflict risks.

Israel Vs Iran – (Web Desk) – Israel announced on Saturday that it carried out a pre-emptive strike against Iran, raising tensions in the Middle East and reducing hopes for a diplomatic resolution to Iran’s long-standing nuclear dispute with Western nations.

This attack follows a 12-day aerial conflict between Israel and Iran in June and comes after repeated warnings from the US and Israel that military action would follow if Iran continued advancing its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Defence Minister Israel Katz stated, “Israel launched this pre-emptive strike to eliminate threats to the nation.” Iranian media reported multiple explosions in Tehran following the attack.

Earlier this year, the US and Iran had resumed talks aimed at resolving the decades-old dispute peacefully and preventing a military confrontation that could further destabilize the region.

Israel, however, insisted that any US deal with Iran must include the dismantling of Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure, not just stopping the enrichment process, and lobbied Washington to include restrictions on Iran’s missile programme in the talks.

Iran said it was prepared to discuss curbs on its nuclear programme in exchange for lifting sanctions but ruled out linking the issue to missiles.

Tehran also said it would defend itself against any attack.

It warned neighbouring countries hosting US troops that it would retaliate against American bases if Washington struck Iran.

In June, the US joined an Israeli military campaign against Iranian nuclear installations, in the most direct American military action ever against the Islamic Republic.

Tehran retaliated by launching missiles toward the US Al Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest in the Middle East.

Western powers have warned that Iran’s ballistic missile project threatens regional stability and could deliver nuclear weapons if developed. Tehran denies seeking atomic bombs.
