Islamic Ideological Council Chairman Condemns Swat Incident, Advocates Legal Justice

RAWALPINDI: Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council, Dr. Allama Raghib Naimi, has vehemently denounced the recent Swat incident, labeling it a grievous act that goes against Shariah principles.

Speaking on a local TV show, Dr. Allama Raghib Naimi emphasized that neither individuals nor groups have the authority to mete out punishments according to Shariah. He stressed the importance of legal and moral adherence to judicial processes.

Dr. Naimi criticized the perception that courts often fail to deliver justice effectively, leading some to take matters into their own hands. He clarified that incidents such as those in Swat, Sargodha, Jaranwala, and Sialkot, where extrajudicial actions occur, are unequivocally non-Shariah compliant and unlawful.

Calling for a thorough investigation, Dr. Naimi urged forensic and mobile location identification of the accused involved in the Swat incident, advocating for their punishment in accordance with the law.

Highlighting Shariah’s stance on severe penalties for crimes like burning someone to death, Dr. Naimi reiterated his strong condemnation of the incident in Madin, Swat region, emphasizing the imperative of upholding legal justice in all circumstances.
