Islamabad(Staff Reporter);Islamabad Urges Kabul to Bring Perpetrators of Bannu Attack to Justice“, Pakistan has urged the interim Afghan government to take “immediate and effective action” against those responsible for the terrorist attack on the Bannu Cantonment, which killed eight security personnel and ten terrorists.
The attack was claimed by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, operating out of Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed “serious concerns” over the presence of terror outfits in Afghanistan, posing a threat to Pakistan’s security. A strong demarche was delivered to the Taliban’s deputy head of mission, demanding a full investigation and robust action against the perpetrators. Pakistan called for the denial of Afghan soil to terrorists and prevention of future attacks, emphasizing the threat to regional peace and security.
At least 10 terrorists were also killed as the security forces repulsed the attack,
The attack was claimed by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, which Pakistan’s military said operates out of neighbouring Afghanistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Wing, Pakistan has raised its concerns with the Interim Afghan government, asking them to deny the use of Afghan soil by the terrorists and take action against such elements.

The FO statement stated that summoned the Taliban’s deputy head of mission on Wednesday and delivered a “strong demarche” over the attack.
The Bannu attack was “yet another reminder of the serious threat” posed by terrorism to regional peace and security, the statement said.
It urged Taliban authorities to “fully investigate and take immediate, robust and effective action against the perpetrators of the Bannu attack and to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.”
