Islamabad Police intensifies crackdown and strengthens city security
IG Islamabad orders stronger anti-crime actions to enhance public security
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has intensified actions across the federal capital to ensure public safety, curb crime, and enhance citizen-focused services. On the special directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, an effective crackdown continued in which police teams from various stations arrested eight suspects involved in narcotics and illegal weapons, recovering 3,750 grams of hashish, 215 grams of ice, and five pistols with ammunition. Additionally, during a special campaign against proclaimed offenders, five wanted criminals were also arrested. FIRs have been registered and further investigation is underway.
An important meeting chaired by the IGP at the Central Police Office reviewed the overall security situation, crime prevention measures, and ongoing public-service initiatives. Senior officers including DIG Islamabad, DIG Security, DIG Headquarters, AIGs, SSPs, and Zonal SPs attended the session. The IGP ordered intensified actions against criminal elements, enhanced smart checking at entry/exit points, increased use of modern technology, intelligence-based operations, and improvements in public service delivery systems, including online complaint mechanisms and community policing. He also assigned special targets to the newly appointed SP Rural Zone, Flt Lt (R) Zeeshan Ali, regarding law and order and citizen facilitation.

Meanwhile, SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, inspected several duty points and checkpoints across the city, directing officers to ensure strict checking of suspicious individuals and vehicles while maintaining courteous conduct with citizens. He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of the public remains the top priority of Islamabad Police. Citizens have been urged to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police helpline “Pukar-15”.
