Women Police Join Islamabad’s Grand Search Operations

Islamabad: (Mudassar Ch/ Web Desk) The Islamabad Police conducted extensive grand search and sweep operations across multiple sectors of the city under the supervision of zonal SPs, with active participation from the women police force, reinforcing a comprehensive strategy to maintain law and order.

During the operation, authorities checked 281 individuals, 164 households, and 16 shops. A total of 121 motorcycles and 31 vehicles were also thoroughly inspected. As a result, 26 suspicious individuals and 13 motorcycles were taken to local police stations for further investigation.

The operations aim to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of citizens throughout the capital. The Inspector General of Islamabad Police has directed that similar grand search operations be conducted across all districts to eliminate crime.

Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with the police during inspections and to promptly report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods, emphasizing that public safety remains the highest priority.

Islamabad Police Nab Gang Involved in Mobile Snatching and Cross-Border Sales

The Robbery and Dacoity Unit of Islamabad Police carried out a major operation, arresting 16 members of a criminal gang, including the gang leader, involved in snatching valuable mobile phones from citizens and selling them in Afghanistan after altering their IMEI numbers.

According to Qazi Ali Raza, the suspects were involved in 16 criminal cases including street robbery, shop dacoities, and other serious offenses. During the operation, police recovered high-value mobile phones worth millions, motorcycles, 2 motorbikes, and 5 pistols with ammunition from the possession of the criminals.

SSP Operations stated that the gang had been operating in twin cities, carrying out multiple robberies and smuggling mobile phones across the border. Authorities are now working to arrest other facilitators and accomplices of the gang.

Qazi Ali Raza emphasized that the suspects, who deprived citizens of their valuable possessions, will be brought to justice. He added that organized and active gangs are being targeted through large-scale police operations to ensure public safety in Islamabad.
