Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal)-To ensure the safety and security of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a high-level meeting to discuss security arrangements. The meeting was attended by senior police officials, including DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, DIG Headquarters Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, and DIG Security Jawad Tariq.

The Islamabad Police has implemented various security measures, including deploying well-prepared police teams at all entry and exit points of the high-security zone, conducting search and combing operations in residential areas surrounding the Red Zone, and closing major roads during the delegation’s movement.

In a recent search operation in the Tarnol police station area, 113 suspicious individuals were taken to the police station for legal proceedings, and seven accused were arrested with weapons and ammunition recovered ¹. DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza emphasized that these operations aim to heighten security in the federal capital and urged citizens to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app.

Additionally, Islamabad Police apprehended 15 criminals involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons, recovering 130 grams of heroin, pistols, rifles, and stolen valuables ¹. DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza assured that the police prioritize protecting citizens’ lives, property, and dignity, and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to help make the city crime-free.

In related news, a farewell ceremony was held for Islamabad Police official Muhammad Nawaz at the Security division, recognizing his services and wishing him well for his future endeavors.
