ISLAMABAD: In a decisive move to maintain law and order, Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ali Nasir Rizvi, has ordered the evacuation of the city today as the ongoing protests continue to escalate. The federal police have decided to surround the demonstrators, and to facilitate this, the Islamabad administration has closed down markets in adjacent sectors.
IGP Rizvi has also deployed fresh security forces to ensure a swift response. A full-scale operation is being planned for tonight, with a focus on clearing the city, particularly around key locations such as D-Chowk. In anticipation of the protest’s spread, all markets near D-Chowk, including those in Melody, Blue Area, Aabpara, F-6, and F-7, have been sealed off.
