Islamabad-(Special-Correspondent/Web desk)-The details of a private judges’ meeting at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) have been shared. Sources say the group barely agreed to pass new internal rules. The vote was very close.
According to insiders, the new rules passed by a narrow 6-to-5 majority. Six judges voted yes, while five judges voted no.
The judges who voted for the rules were Chief Justice Sardar Dogar, Justice Arbab Tahir, Justice Khadim Soomro, Justice Azam Khan, Justice Muhammad Asif, and Justice Inam Minhas.
The judges who voted against them were Justice Mohsin Kayani, Justice Tariq Jahangiri, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Sardar Ejaz Khan, and Justice Saman Imtiaz.

Reports state that no discussion was permitted on the topic before the vote took place.
A request from two judges to change the meeting plan was turned down. Another judge asked to delay the meeting, saying more time was needed to review the new rules.
Even with these objections, the rules were approved by the slim majority.
The first two topics at the meeting were agreed on by everyone. These covered powers for family court judges and matters about the IHC building itself.
