Islamabad High Court Sentences Deputy Commissioner to Jail for Contempt of Court
SHO Nasir Manzoor was sentenced to two months in jail, along with a fine of Rs0.1 million.
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sentenced Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon to six months in jail for committing contempt of court. The court ruled that the maintenance of public order (MPO) issued by Memon against PTI leader Shehryar Afridi was illegal.
However, the IHC exonerated Saddar SP of the charges leveled against him. Additionally, the court handed down a four-month sentence to SSP operations and imposed a fine of Rs0.1 million. The sentence will remain suspended for a month.
Furthermore, SHO Nasir Manzoor was sentenced to two months in jail, along with a fine of Rs0.1 million. The court emphasized that if the sentence of the deputy commissioner is not suspended as a result of an appeal within 30 days, he should be arrested.
