Islamabad Chamber Delegation Showcases Pakistani Innovation at Qatar Expo
Doha/Islamabad:-(Mudassar Iqbal)-A high-level delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) recently participated in a major Expo held in Qatar, where over 20 exhibitors from Islamabad showcased Pakistan’s leading residential projects, industrial products, and consumer goods. The event proved to be a significant opportunity to inject new energy into Pakistan-Qatar trade relations.
The delegation was led by ICCI President Nasser Mansoor Qureshi, accompanied by Vice Presidents Nasser Mehmood Chaudhry, Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, and several executive members.
Prominent housing projects such as DHA, Faisal Town, and Park View City had strong representation at the expo. Additionally, pharmaceutical products, solar energy solutions, medical devices, perfumes, Shikarpuri sweets, and Pakistani mangoes received considerable appreciation and interest from Qatari visitors.
During business-to-business (B2B) meetings, the delegation strengthened ties with Qatari businessmen and investors. There was notable interest in key Pakistani exports such as pink salt, rice, fresh fruits, and agricultural products.
The opening ceremony was graced by Lahore Qalandars CEO Rana Fawad, who visited various Pakistani stalls and praised the business-friendly environment in Qatar. He noted that Qatar’s export-oriented economy offers immense potential for Pakistani entrepreneurs.
Speaking to The Destination, ICCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui remarked:
“Qatar is not just focused on oil and gas; it is also eager to collaborate with Pakistan in sectors like sports goods, agriculture, surgical instruments, pharmaceuticals, and pink salt.”
He further shared that Qatari authorities are interested in having Pakistani institutions develop sports complexes in Qatar, contributing to the creation of a “Sports City.”
Moreover, several Pakistani sweets brands announced plans to open branches in Qatar, while numerous importers and exporters expressed strong interest in future partnerships.
The ICCI delegation also held meetings with representatives of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Qatar, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Aamir Riaz. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade cooperation.
Abdul Rehman Siddiqui emphasized that the ICCI’s visit to Qatar marks a significant step in advancing Pakistan-Qatar economic ties. The Expo not only helped introduce Pakistani products to a global audience but also opened new avenues of cooperation with a highly investor-friendly country like Qatar.
