Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport will face temporary suspensions on select days in August due to rehearsals for the Independence Day parade, the Pakistan Airport Authority announced.

Flights Halted for Parade Rehearsals

According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the authority, all arrivals and departures will be suspended on August 11, 12, and 13 from 8pm to 10pm. Airlines have been directed not to schedule flights during these hours.

Additional Suspension Days Announced

The NOTAM also includes earlier suspension dates. Flight operations will be halted on August 6 to 9 and August 11 to 14 for varying durations to accommodate parade practice. During these eight days, a special daytime suspension will be in place between 11am and 1pm.

Passengers Urged to Check Flight Schedules

Authorities have advised travellers to confirm their flight timings in advance to avoid inconvenience. Airlines are expected to adjust schedules accordingly and inform passengers of any changes.

Preparations for Independence Day Celebrations

These temporary suspensions are part of security and logistical measures for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations, which will be marked with full ceremonial display in the federal capital.
