Ishaq Dar stresses importance of stability in Pakistan’s constitution

Ishaq Dar Highlights Pakistan’s Economic Growth, Peaceful Foreign Policy, and Strengthened Relations with UK, India, Neighbors

Islamabad-(Special-Correspondent / Web Desk)-Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, speaking to the media in London, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to constitutional stability, noting, “There is no need for a 27th constitutional amendment, as we are still implementing the 26th.”
During his three-day visit to the UK aimed at strengthening Pakistan-UK relations, Ishaq Dar highlighted the country’s economic growth. He expressed satisfaction with recent improvements and praised efforts to boost trade and investment ties between the two nations.

On regional security, Ishaq Dar accused India of verbally violating the recent ceasefire. He emphasized Pakistan’s vigilance in maintaining peace while staying prepared to safeguard its sovereignty.

“Pakistan is a peaceful, peace-loving country,” he stated, adding, “We are committed to friendly and cooperative relations with all our neighbors.”

He also highlighted improved ties with Afghanistan and Iran. Quoting an Iranian official, he said Pakistan is recognized as a “true friend,” reflecting strong regional cooperation.`

Regarding India, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s peaceful stance but warned, “If India threatens our security, Pakistan will respond decisively.”

During his UK visit, Ishaq Dar praised the digitization of land records and the integration of passport services. He highlighted the launch of a pilot project by the Punjab Land Record Authority and the One Window Operation by IMPASS at the Pakistan High Commission in London, calling it a key step to strengthen Pakistan-UK ties.

Ishaq Dar also proposed the development of an airport in Mirpur, modeled after Sialkot Airport, and assured British parliamentarians that Pakistan is ready to purchase land for the project.

The visit highlights Ishaq Dar’s contributions to boost Pakistan-UK relations, indicating the improvement in the country’s economy, and assuring the UK that Pakistan is having rapid development in different sectors, and is ready to defend external threats to being an independent nation.

Earlier, before his UK visit, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) that approved 28 major development projects across Pakistan.
