IRSA Reports Significant Water Release from Indus River System

Over 101,000 Cusecs Released Amid Inflow of 72,200 Cusecs

The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) reported on Tuesday that it has released 101,700 cusecs of water from various rim stations, with an inflow measuring 72,200 cusecs.

As per IRSA’s data, the water level in the Indus River at the Tarbela Dam stood at 1,535.67 feet, which is 137.67 feet above its dead level of 1,398 feet. The dam’s inflow and outflow were recorded at 38,300 cusecs and 40,000 cusecs, respectively.

In the River Jhelum at the Mangla Dam, the water level reached 1,202.55 feet, surpassing its dead level of 1,050 feet by 152.55 feet. The inflow and outflow for this dam were noted as 7,000 cusecs and 35,000 cusecs, respectively.

The water releases at various locations were as follows: 57,800 cusecs at Kalabagh, 61,000 cusecs at Taunsa, 54,900 cusecs at Guddu, and 15,800 cusecs at Sukkur.

Additionally, from the River Kabul, 15,900 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera, and 3,500 cusecs was released from the River Chenab at Marala.
