IRSA Releases Over 132,000 Cusecs of Water Amid Rising River Levels
Kabul River at Nowshera releases 19,100 cusecs, while 3,500 cusecs flow from the Chenab at Marala.
ISLAMABAD- The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday reported the release of 132,700 cusecs of water from various rim stations, with an inflow of 98,000 cusecs.
According to IRSA data, the water level at Tarbela Dam on the Indus River stood at 1,536.79 feet, which is 138.79 feet above its dead level of 1,398 feet. The dam’s inflow was recorded at 55,000 cusecs, while its outflow was 60,000 cusecs.
At Mangla Dam on the Jhelum River, the water level reached 1,206.55 feet, 156.55 feet above the dead level of 1,050 feet. Mangla’s inflow was noted at 8,300 cusecs, with an outflow of 38,000 cusecs.
Water releases at key stations were as follows: Kalabagh (84,400 cusecs), Taunsa (67,100 cusecs), Guddu (61,800 cusecs), and Sukkur (16,500 cusecs). Meanwhile, 19,100 cusecs of water flowed from the Kabul River at Nowshera, and 3,500 cusecs were released from the Chenab River at Marala.
