Iran’s Pezeshkian declares full-fledged war against the Western powers

Iran’s president warns of full-scale confrontation with Western powers amid sanctions, regional tensions, and growing pressure on Iran’s economy.

President Masoud Pezeshkian – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran is engaged in what he described as a “full-scale” war with Western nations, without clarifying whether he meant a military confrontation.

Speaking in an interview published on the website of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Pezeshkian stated that Iran is facing sustained pressure from the United States, Israel, and Europe, claiming these powers are determined to prevent the country from becoming self-reliant.

  • President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran faces a “full-scale” war from the US, Israel, and Europe, without confirming military action.

  • He criticizes harsh US sanctions and Western pressure, saying they hurt Iran’s trade, economy, and everyday life.

  • His remarks come amid rising regional tensions, recent US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, and an upcoming Netanyahu visit to Washington.

Pezeshkian decried the crippling American sanctions imposed on Iran since Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office in January. He said the West is creating difficulties for Iran by “besieging us from every aspect.”

He continued: “On one side, expectations in society have risen; on the other side, the West is blocking our sales, trade, exchanges – creating problems in terms of livelihood, cultural, political and security-wise.”

The U.S. struck Iran’s nuclear sites in Operation Midnight Hammer late June after the 12-day Iran-Israel war.

The Iranian president’s statement comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the U.S. for a confab this weekend.
