ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Reza Amiri Moghadam, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic martyrdom of 17 brave members of Pakistan’s security forces. In a tweet, he extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the Government, Armed Forces, and people of Pakistan, especially the families who lost their loved ones.

Condemning terrorism as a sinister design by cowardly elements, Ambassador Moghadam emphasized that such acts seek to destabilize the region and hinder its path toward sustainable development. He described terrorism as a chronic scourge, fueled by malicious forces and a shared menace across the region, where traitorous groups, in collusion with international terrorists, target peace, security, and stability.
The Ambassador called for collective, determined, and united efforts at both regional and international levels to combat terrorism and violent extremism. He stressed that all countries must actively participate in eradicating every form of terrorism that has claimed countless innocent lives over the decades.
This statement highlights the continued need for regional cooperation to ensure lasting peace and security in South Asia and beyond.
