Iran Warns US Israel Over Military Threats
Iranian Army Chief Warns US Israel Amid Rising Tensions
Tehran: (Web Desk) – Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami on Saturday issued a stern warning to the United States and Israel, stating that Iran’s armed forces are on full defensive and military readiness amid heightened tensions in the Gulf.
Hatami warned that any mistake by the enemy “will endanger its own security, the security of the region, and the security of the Zionist regime,” according to the official IRNA news agency.
The warning comes after the US deployed a naval strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln to the Middle East, following deadly crackdowns on anti-government protests in Iran. Hatami emphasized that Iran’s nuclear technology and expertise cannot be eliminated, even if the country’s scientists and citizens are martyred.
The Iranian Army Chief added that the country’s armed forces are at high alert and prepared to respond to any aggression with decisive action.
The US has previously carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, and Israeli attacks have targeted military installations, killing senior officers and scientists. Iranian authorities have blamed the United States and Israel for fomenting unrest during nationwide protests over rising living costs, which peaked on January 8–9. Official reports cite 3,117 deaths, while independent sources suggest the figure could be over 6,500.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian urged the government to address public grievances, stating, “If we act justly, the people will see it and will accept it… no power can cripple a government or a nation that acts fairly.”

Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei visited the shrine of Ruhollah Khomeini in southern Tehran as part of 10-day celebrations marking the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The situation has raised fears of potential confrontations in the Gulf, particularly given Tehran’s threats of missile strikes on US bases, ships, and allies, notably Israel, in the event of an attack.
