Iran Strikes Gulf Cities Retaliating US Israeli Attacks

Iran Launches Missile Drone Strikes Across UAE Qatar Bahrain

DUBAI: (Web Desk) – Fresh explosions were reported across Dubai, Doha, and Manama on Sunday morning as Iran launched retaliatory strikes following US and Israeli attacks that reportedly killed the Iranian supreme leader and other top officials.

AFP reporters described hearing multiple blasts, while thick black smoke was seen rising above southern Doha. Shortly afterward, another wave of explosions reverberated across Dubai.

The attacks came after Iran struck Abu Dhabi, targeting military bases and civilian infrastructure across Gulf states, excluding Oman, which acted as a mediator. These developments have raised fears of a wider regional conflict, threatening stability in a region long considered a safe hub in the turbulent Middle East.

On Saturday, the United Arab Emirates reported that Iran had fired 137 missiles and 209 drones, causing fires and smoke at landmarks including The Palm and Burj Al Arab. At Abu Dhabi airport, authorities reported at least one death and seven injuries during what was described as an “incident.” Dubai airport, the world’s busiest for international traffic, and Kuwait’s airport were also affected.

In Qatar, officials said Iran launched 65 missiles and 12 drones, most intercepted, but eight people were injured, one critically. On Saturday, smoke was seen over US bases in Abu Dhabi and Manama, home to the US Fifth Fleet, with US facilities also targeted in Kuwait.

The Gulf monarchies, rich in oil and gas, are longstanding US allies hosting several American military bases. In Manama, drones and shrapnel struck residential buildings, with social media footage showing smoke and fires from high-rises. Iranian strikes also targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Riyadh, and eastern Saudi Arabia.
