FBI – (Web Desk) – The FBI is actively pursuing one of the most talked-about Iran spy cases United States has ever seen. Authorities have announced a $200,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Monica Witt, a former U.S. Air Force officer accused of spying for Iran.

Witt was charged in 2019 for allegedly passing classified American intelligence to Iranian authorities. She has been missing since she defected in 2013, and the FBI says it has not given up on finding her.

FBI Special Agent Daniel Wierzbicki recently spoke out about the case. He said the bureau believes someone out there knows where Witt is hiding. He urged the public to come forward and help bring her to justice.

Monica Witt served in the U.S. Air Force from 1997 to 2008. After leaving the military, she continued working as a contractor for the U.S. Defense Department until 2010. She later travelled to Iran to attend a conference that criticised American values and culture.

The FBI claims Witt began working with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also known as the IRGC. This powerful military force was established after Iran’s 1979 revolution and is known for spreading Iranian influence across the globe.

Witt was not alone in the indictment. Four Iranian nationals were also charged alongside her in 2019 for conspiracy and identity theft, making this one of the most serious espionage cases in recent U.S. history.

The FBI continues to urge anyone with information about Monica Witt’s location to come forward. A $200,000 reward is waiting for the tip that finally brings this decade-long case to a close.
