Iran Rejects Trump Ultimatum Warns Of Regional Escalation

Iran Warns Strong Response After Rejecting Trump 48 Hour Ultimatum

TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iran has firmly rejected a reported 48-hour ultimatum linked to former US President Donald Trump, warning that any further aggression would provoke a powerful and widespread response across the Middle East. Iranian officials said continued hostility could turn the region into a “hell” for both the United States and Israel, signaling a sharp escalation in tensions.

The warning was reinforced by military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaqari of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, who stressed that any response would not be limited to one front but could expand across multiple areas. He described attempts to defeat Iran as a “quagmire,” cautioning that adversaries risk being drawn into a prolonged and costly conflict.

Meanwhile, Iran reportedly launched missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and Gulf regions, including Kuwait, as part of the ongoing conflict that intensified following US-Israeli strikes. Both Israel and Kuwait confirmed that their air defense systems were activated in response. The conflict has already disrupted regional stability and impacted the global economy, particularly due to tensions surrounding the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian forces continue to maintain control over the waterway, using it as leverage while targeting economic infrastructure in countries aligned with US and Israeli efforts. In retaliation, strikes on Iranian economic sites, including a petrochemical hub in Khuzestan, reportedly resulted in casualties.

Trump reiterated his warning on Truth Social, stating that Iran had limited time to comply or face severe consequences. However, Iran’s military leadership, including General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, dismissed the ultimatum as reckless and provocative, warning that any escalation would backfire.

The situation has further intensified with reported aerial confrontations, including claims by Tehran of downing US aircraft, though Washington has not officially confirmed these incidents. Efforts to locate a missing airman are reportedly ongoing.

Concerns have also risen over strikes near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, prompting international alarm. Rafael Grossi of the International Atomic Energy Agency expressed serious concern, although no radiation leaks have been detected so far.

As strikes increasingly target economic and industrial sites, fears are growing of a broader regional conflict with global consequences. Protests have also emerged in Israel, where citizens are calling for peace talks amid escalating violence.
