Injury Forces Aamir Jamal Out of Pakistan’s Test Squad for BAN Series
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday that all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been released from the two-Test squad against Bangladesh due to an injury.
Aamir Jamal, 28, sustained the injury while representing Warwickshire in county cricket. Since joining the team in April, he has played in three Tests and six T20Is.
His last appearance for the county was on June 8, after which he was sidelined due to a diagnosed back injury.
The PCB included Aamir Jamal in the squad for the two-Test series against Bangladesh with the condition that his participation would depend on his fitness. However, Jamal was unable to reach match fitness and has now been released from the squad.
In a statement, the PCB said, “Right-arm fast bowler Aamir Jamal has been removed from the Test squad ahead of the series against Bangladesh. Aamir, who was initially included subject to fitness clearance, has been advised to focus on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.”
