Pakistan, Indonesia Discuss Strengthening Military Collaboration and Regional Stability
Rawalpindi — Lieutenant General Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (Retd), Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, led a high-level delegation comprising representatives from various services and intelligence agencies in a visit to General Headquarters today. The delegation met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and regional security issues.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing military collaboration and explored avenues to deepen defence ties between the two nations. Field Marshal Munir emphasized the importance of continued mutual cooperation to maintain peace and stability in the region, highlighting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Indonesia.
The Indonesian Defence Minister expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Army’s role in combating terrorism and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening defence relations with Pakistan.
This visit marks a significant step towards consolidating defence partnerships and fostering closer military cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.
