Indonesia Commends Pakistan Armed Forces, Seeks Closer Defence Ties
RAWALPINDI – Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at GHQ on Monday, according to ISPR.
The two sides discussed regional and global security dynamics, bilateral defence cooperation, and ways to strengthen institutional linkages, training collaboration, and defence industrial partnerships between Pakistan and Indonesia.

The Indonesian minister lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in combating terrorism. He also expressed Indonesia’s interest in expanding defence ties across multiple domains.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to a strong and enduring defence relationship with Indonesia, based on shared values, mutual respect, and converging strategic interests.
