India’s PM remains upbeat about friendship with the US.

Leaders affirm a strong partnership despite recent disagreements on trade and foreign policy.

US – India – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the bond between India and the United States remains strong and positive. This came after US President Donald Trump repeated that the two leaders are personal friends. Trump also softened his earlier comments about India being “lost” to China.

This conversation happens while the two countries work through some disagreements. Recently, the US placed new taxes on goods from India. The US said that India buying oil from Russia helps fund the war in Ukraine.

Despite these issues, Modi and Trump have always had a good relationship. Both leaders are known for their strong public support. Modi replied to Trump online, saying he agrees with the positive view of their ties. He called the partnership between the two nations comprehensive and global.

Earlier, Trump told news reporters that he will always be a friend to Modi. He called the relationship between India and the US “special” and said there was no need for worry. This was different from his previous statement about “losing India.”

Last week, Modi traveled to China for a meeting with other world leaders. This was his first trip there in seven years, showing that old tensions may be easing.

Recently, Trump seemed upset with India. He wanted praise for helping to calm a serious military clash between India and Pakistan in May. He felt his work was worthy of a top peace prize.

However, India firmly does not want other countries involved in talks about the Kashmir region. Because of this, India has not been warm to Trump’s offer to help.
