India’s National Anthem Interrupted Twice Before First T20I Against South Africa

A technical glitch disrupted the pre-match proceedings of the first T20I between India and South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban, on Friday, as the Indian national anthem was interrupted twice before the game began.

As both teams lined up for the national anthems, the Indian anthem stopped midway during its first play, with Indian players, including Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma, continuing to sing without the music. The anthem was cut off again shortly after, leaving the players visibly confused and bewildered, particularly on the faces of Pandya and Yadav.

The incident quickly went viral on social media, garnering widespread attention. India is set to face South Africa in a four-match T20I series.
