India Warns Pakistan of Cross-Border Flooding Threat

Communities Unite as River Levels Rise Across the Region

Punjab – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -Authorities have issued a major flood warning for Punjab’s main rivers. The Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers are predicted to rise to dangerous levels within the next two days.

Rescue teams, including the Army, are now assisting with large-scale evacuations to keep people safe.

The disaster management agency reports a critical situation at the Sutlej River, where water flow has surged to a very high level. Other key points on the Ravi and Sutlej rivers are also seeing massive water inflows.

Local governments in several districts have requested military help to move people living in high-risk areas. All official leave has been cancelled to ensure staff are present to help.

So far, rescue workers have already moved over 24,000 people to safer ground. With more heavy rain expected, officials worry the situation could get worse.

Flood Alert issued as Sutlej River swells after India’s Water Release

Cities like Lahore and Rawalpindi are also at risk of urban flooding. Residents in low-lying areas are asked to stay alert and follow instructions from emergency teams.

The problem is increased by water released from dams in India. This extra water is flowing into the Ravi River, raising concerns about severe flooding in the coming days.

National disaster authorities have put all institutions on high alert. They predict record-breaking water levels in the Chenab and Sutlej rivers.

Rain continues to fall in several areas, adding to the already serious flood risk and keeping emergency teams on high alert.
