India loses right to host women’s Blind Cricket World Cup amid visa dispute

WBCC reaffirmed Pakistan's Syed Sultan Shah as the chairman of the organization

ISLAMABAD: The World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) has officially withdrawn India’s right to host the upcoming Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup due to ongoing visa issues. The decision was made during a meeting held in Multan on Monday.

India was initially set to host the Women’s Blind World Cup next year, but the hosting rights were revoked after India allegedly refused to issue visas to the Pakistani team. This follows a similar issue in the 2022 Blind World Cup when India denied visas to the Pakistani squad, preventing them from participating.

As part of the council’s resolution, India will not be allowed to host any international blind cricket events until political tensions between the two nations ease.
