ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir adopted a firm stance on potential regional tensions, warning against any possible Indian provocation and stating that Pakistan’s defence remains fully prepared to respond to any aggression.
In a speech delivered on April 16, 2025, at a gathering in Islamabad for overseas Pakistanis, he said that the Indian military would not be able to defeat Pakistan despite its numerical and material advantages.
He reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing position on Kashmir, describing it as a core issue, while stating that the people of the region continue to resist what he termed occupation.
Following heightened tensions after the Pahalgam incident, an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee was held in Islamabad to assess the regional security situation.
