India Behind Pahalgam Attack: Azma Bukhari

Azma Bukhari Slams India’s Silence on Jaffar Express Hijacking

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Saturday dismissed Indian allegations against Pakistan regarding the recent Pahalgam attack, calling them baseless and politically motivated. Speaking at a press conference, she claimed that the speed with which India registered an FIR — within just 10 minutes of the incident — clearly indicated premeditation and cast doubt on the authenticity of the Indian narrative.

“India has a consistent pattern of blaming Pakistan without evidence whenever something goes wrong,” Azma Bukhari stated. “This time, they even sacrificed innocent tourists just to malign Pakistan.”

The minister further criticized India for attempting to undermine the Kashmiri economy, saying the incident was deliberately aimed at damaging the tourism industry — a sector predominantly run by Kashmiris.

Highlighting Pakistan’s responsible approach to cross-border incidents, Azma pointed out that Pakistan promptly condemned the Pahalgam attack, whereas India remained silent on the recent Jaffar Express hijacking, which took place in Pakistan. “Despite that, we refrained from issuing any irresponsible statements about India,” she added.

She also stressed national unity, saying, “When it comes to Pakistan’s defence, the entire nation stands united on one page.”

Azma Bukhari’s remarks add to a growing chorus of Pakistani officials and analysts questioning the Indian version of events surrounding the Pahalgam attack, with many describing it as a potential false flag operation orchestrated for political gain.
