As stated in its most recent transparency report, TikTok has actively worked with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) over the past six months in an effort to uphold community standards and adhere to local laws.
The Pakistani government sent TikTok 303 requests between July and December 2023, which resulted in the removal of 93.5% of the reported content.
This proactive stance demonstrates TikTok’s dedication to resolving issues brought up by regional authorities about offensive or delicate content on its network.
A total of 12,392 pieces of content were removed for breaching community laws, while 2,126 pieces were removed for breaking local laws. During this time, TikTok also deactivated 270 accounts for breaking community rules and 59 accounts for breaking local laws.
