Imran Khan’s Sons to Join PTI’s August Protest: Aleema Khan

Imran Khan, she said, remains resolute and is leading the movement from behind bars with complete conviction.

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, revealed on Tuesday that his sons, Sulaiman and Qasim, will join the party’s upcoming protest movement upon their return from the United States.

Speaking to the media outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after meeting her incarcerated brother and his wife Bushra Bibi, Aleema shared details of the PTI founder’s firm stance against dialogue and his call for mass mobilization. Imran Khan, currently in jail since August 5, 2023, has directed that the anti-government protest must reach its peak on the second anniversary of his incarceration this August 5.

“The founder has given a clear message — the people must be ready for a powerful protest,” Aleema told reporters. “He said those who cannot bear the burden of this movement should step aside now.”

Sons Not Seeking Permission, Just Informing

Aleema clarified that Khan’s sons, who had been in the U.S., had previously been discouraged from public political involvement, but have now decided to actively participate in the protest.

“We had stopped them earlier too,” she said. “But the children don’t feel the need to ask for their father’s permission — they are simply informing him of their intention to stand with him.”

Full Family Participation

She emphasized that the protest movement now transcends politics, representing a broader demand for justice and Pakistan’s democratic future. “We will all be part of the protest,” Aleema declared. “This is about the future of Pakistan and standing up for what is right.”
