Imran Khan nominates Ali Amin Gandapur as CM KP

Gandapur was a strong contender for the CM slot as he had stood firmly with the party.

ISLAMABAD: Former Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan has nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Three names of potential candidates had been circulating for the CM position in the province’s next term.

The names of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Ali Amin Gandapur, Mushtaq Ghani and Taj Mohammad Tarand had come forward for the post of KP Chief Minister.

In an informal brief chat with reporters at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan said that he has nominated Ali Amin Gndapur for the CM KP slot.

He said that there would be no talk with PML-N, PPP and MQM regarding government formation.

Gandapur was a strong contender for the CM slot as he had stood firmly with the party and had led from the front. PTI founder Imran Khan nominated him as the CM KP.

Gandapur was the provincial revenue minister in the first Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and served as the minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan in former prime minister Imran Khan’s cabinet.
