Imran Khan again moves IHC to avoid arrest

PTI leaders booked in one more case for provocative speeches,

PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday moved Islamabad High Court to avoid arrest relating to plethora of cases lodged against him throughout the country,

In his application, Imran Khan prayed the court to bar authorities from arresting him without court’s order. “I have been facing threats ever since assassination attempt against me in Wazirabad last year,” the PTI chief said.

Imran Khan said since the PDM government came into power everyday cases were being lodged against him across the country. He also prayed the court that record of all the cases should be provided to him.

The PTI chief made interior secretary, inspectors general of police of all provinces and FIA director general as respondents.

IHC Registrar’s Office raises objections

Imran Khan has again challenged the district and sessions court’s decision to reject his appeal challenging non-bailable arrest warrants.

The IHC Registrar Office on Friday raised objections at another petition filed by Imran Khan seeking cancellation of non-bailable arrest warrants in Toshakhana case.

The Registrar’s Office said there were no biometrics of Imran Khan and how could the high court again take up a plea about which it had already given its verdict.

The Office further stated that how could the court issue blanket order on a petition?

The district and sessions court on Thursday had rejected Imran Khan’s petition seeking cancellation of the arrest warrants in Toshakhana case.

Meanwhile, One more case has been registered against the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for provocative speeches during the March 11 protest against inflation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The case was registered against MPA Raja Azhar and PTI Karachi General Secretary Arsalan Taj at Landhi police station, Korangi district.

“The accused delivered speeches against the armed forces and the state institutions of national security,” the text of the FIR read.

Seven cases have been registered so far in different areas of Karachi over the protest by the PTI.

The cases had been registered against Korangi, East, Kemari, Central and West districts.
