Election rallies schedule announced, Imran to lead Muredke Rally on Tuesday
Lahore _(Tahir Chuhdary) has started preparations for the upcoming election campaign, as a meeting of ticket holders was held in Lahore on Sunday.
The meeting was chaired by the party leader Imran Khan and attended by several prominent candidates including PP 166 ticket holder Malik Sarfaraz Khokhar, PP 147 ticket holder Ghulam Mohiuddin, PP 167 ticket holder Nadeem Bara, PP 140 ticket holder Malik Waqar, 171 ticket holder Meher Wajid Azim, and others.
Mr Khan directed the ticket holders to intensify the election campaign through rallies and door-to-door campaigns in their respective constituencies. He urged the ticket holders to spread PTI’s narrative to as many people as possible.
He also directed the candidates to address the concerns of the factions in their respective constituencies to persuade them to join the election campaign.
On Saturday, Mr Khan he would keep on staging rallies, starting from next week till May 14, and would not take rest until elections were held.
Addressing a pro-CJP rally at Lakshami Chowk, he said caretaker governments in Punjab and KP had lost their terms and constitutional standings adding that he would demand the courts to hold elections in KP too. “This government has brought sensitive price index to half,” he added.
He said the way Indian FM Subrahmanyam Jaishankar behaved with our FM Bilawal Bhutto [at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation moot] was “shameful for all of us”. “Mr Bhutto, do you even think before spending money on your foreign trips,” he asked.
Pkistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to start elections rallies across the province of Punjab from Tuesday and party Chairman Imran Khan to address the first rally at Muredke.
, the party sources said PTI has decided to hold the second election rally in Gakhar and the third rally in Kharian.
The PTI sources said that the party has planned to hold most of the rallies in the cities at the Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) and Imran Khan will participate in these public meetings.
The final schedule of the rallies in central Punjab will be announced after the formal approval of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PTI sources said.
As per the decision in Imran Khan’s meeting with the party ticket holders, rallies will be held in central Punjab from Tuesday to Saturday while countrywide protests for elections at the union level will be held on Sunday.
After the meeting of the party ticket holders from Lahore with Imran Khan, PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid said the party chairman has given directions to the candidates for their election campaigns.
She said Punjab Assembly elections will be held in any case and hopefully the final date of elections will be announced tomorrow.
