Lahore-Karachi Kings faced an unexpected setback as their captain, Imad Wasim, bid farewell to the team, marking a significant change ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9.

Imad Wasim’s departure from Karachi Kings was confirmed, leading to a shift in leadership dynamics for the team. Consequently, Karachi Kings will see a new skipper for PSL 9, with Imad Wasim no longer at the helm.

The seasoned all-rounder, Imad Wasim, has transitioned to Islamabad United, marking a move that adds depth and experience to the Islamabad United roster. Notably, Imad Wasim will be stepping into the role previously held by Hasan Ali within the Islamabad United setup.

Despite Imad Wasim’s arrival, Shadab Khan will continue to command Islamabad United as their captain. Imad Wasim, now part of Islamabad United’s playing squad, brings a wealth of cricketing expertise and skills to fortify the team’s composition.

This unexpected move by Imad Wasim signifies a notable change in the PSL landscape, stirring anticipation among fans for the approaching season, with shifts in team dynamics and fresh player configurations on the horizon.

Earlier,

Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez asserted on Tuesday that former all-rounder Imad Wasim took retirement despite being informed that the latter was part of the future plan.

Hafeez also cleared the air regarding fast bowler Mohammad Amir. “I had a contact with Mohammad Amir to suggest that he take back his retirement and join the domestic circuit if he is interested in playing for Pakistan.”

“Amir made it clear that he now sees his future in the international leagues,” Hafeez said.

Hafeez expressed optimism that former captain Babar Azam will definitely “shine” by putting up strong performances in the future.

He made it clear that former captain Babar Azam and Shan Masood have a strong bond. “I am an admirer of Babar Azam’s capabilities. We will also take Babar Azam on board over the right strategies,” he added.
