Imaan Mazari, husband Hadi Chattha arrested in Islamabad

Islamabad police arrest Imaan Mazari and husband during court visit, sparking concern after mother alleges force and lack of FIR.

Islamabad – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Renowned human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, were arrested by Islamabad police on Friday morning while heading from the Islamabad High Court to the district courts in a case linked to controversial tweets.

The arrest was confirmed by Imaan Mazari’s mother, Shireen Mazari, who said in a post on X that both were taken away in separate vehicles to undisclosed locations.

She further said they were shown no FIR and regretted that bar (Islamabad Bar Association) sadly could not do anything.

“Fascism is at its peak. Emasculated men in power must be so pleased with this achievement!” she added.

In another post later, Shireen Mazari claimed the police “used violence on the bar leaders and broke the windows of the car.”
