IHC directs FIA to adopt measures as per law,

Islamabad: (Staff Repoter) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) against a probe by the agency in the prohibited funding case.

Hearing the petition, Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court ordered the FIA to adopt measures as per law and club this petition with a similar one already fixed for hearing on October 19.

Furthermore PTI, in its plea argued that the inquiry into the funds is illegal and its leaders are being harassed for political reasons. The party has prayed to the court to bar officials from conducting raids and arrests of PTI leaders.

Meanwhile it merits mention that the FIA had launched a probe into the PTI’s prohibited funding after the ECP’s findings were announced.

As per details, the investigative agency has arrested two PTI leaders and summoned several other senior leaders, including former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser in connection with the inquiry.
