IHC Demands Report Signed by ISI and MI Sector Commanders in AJK Citizen’s Recovery Case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court, presided over by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, directed sector commanders of ISI and MI to submit a signed report regarding the recovery of Azad Kashmir citizen Khawaja Khursheed, during a hearing of the petition filed for his recovery.
During the hearing, the public prosecutor informed the court that no case was registered against Khawaja Khurshid by the police. Justice Mohsin Kayani sought reports from various agencies, questioning the absence of a report from the Ministry of Defense.
Emphasizing the urgency of the matter, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani instructed that the reports from ISI and MI sector commanders must be submitted by Monday with their signatures. The court underscored the gravity of the situation, expressing concerns over the missing individual’s family, including small children, who are anxiously awaiting his return.

Addressing the Ministry of Defense representative, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani emphasized the potential consequences of delaying the report, stressing that action should be taken promptly if Khawaja Khurshid is involved in any criminal or anti-state activities.
The court adjourned the hearing until June 24, awaiting the comprehensive reports from concerned authorities, while urging swift resolution to ensure justice and clarity in the case of Khawaja Khursheed’s disappearance.
