IGP Rizvi Orders Enhanced Security at Mosques and Imambargahs During Ramadan

IGP Stresses Duty as Devotion, Warns Against Security Lapses

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a thorough review of security arrangements at various mosques and imambargahs across the city during Iftar, Suhoor, and prayer times.

According to a public relations officer, IGP Rizvi visited several locations to inspect security deployments and personally interacted with police personnel on duty. He praised their dedication and emphasized the need for continued vigilance to ensure the safety of worshipers.

On the occasion, IGP Rizvi issued clear instructions, stating that no senior police officer should remain at home during Iftar and Suhoor hours. He ordered all Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to be present in the field to supervise security operations.

He warned that any negligence in security duties would not be tolerated, directing senior officers to ensure timely arrival of all personnel at their designated duty points. Despite adverse weather conditions, IGP Rizvi acknowledged the dedication of police officers, stating that their true act of worship lies in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.

The IGP urged all officers to consider their duties as a form of devotion, stressing that any lapse in security at mosques and imambargahs would be unacceptable.
