April 96 Electricity Thieves Were Fined More than 7.43 Million And 23 Were Arrested

Islamabad: IESCO’s Operations Against Electricity Pilferers Continued. Since Crack Down Started 13 thousand electricity Thieves Have Been Fined More Than 572.170 Million

IESCO Chief Executive Dr Muhammad Amjad khan while giving brief regarding ongoing crack down against power Pilferers said that our detection teams continued to crack down against power Pilferers even during the month of Ramadan and during the Eid Ul Fitar holidays.

He said the whole following the Government Of Pakistan and Ministry of Energy Power Division our all formations are working tirelessly to eliminate Power Theft from IESCO region. He said during the Current Month of April our detection teams checked more than 45,000 electricity meters of different tariffs , 89 customers were using direct power supply and 7 meter were found tampered , fines of more than 7.4 million were imposed on the concerned consumers, 51 FIRs were registered and the police arrested 23 electricity thieves.

IESCO Chief said that since the operation started our detection teams imposed fines of more than 572. 170 million to more than 13 thousand electricity thieves, while more than 1 thousand electricity thieves were arrested by the police.

Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan reiterated his determination that we have zero tolerance policy against power thieves as instructed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Minister of Power Division, Sardar Owais Ahmad Laghari and we will charge each single Pani of consumed units by power Pilferers
