IESCO’s Digital Shift Seen as Key to Ending Corruption

IESCO Releases December 9 Power Suspension Schedule Affecting Multiple Service Circles

Islamabad – In a message issued on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, Chief Executive Officer of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Engineer Ch. Khalid Mahmood, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to eliminating corruption and ensuring transparency across all departments.

He said corruption is a global challenge that undermines institutional credibility, hampers economic growth, and erodes public trust. To counter this, IESCO is rapidly shifting toward digital and online services aimed at providing timely, high-quality service to customers while minimizing avenues for corruption and bribery.

The CEO emphasized that IESCO follows a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. He reminded consumers that no IESCO employee is authorized to receive cash payments for any official service. All payments must be deposited through banks via demand notices only.

He further stated that IESCO staff are dedicated to offering clean, transparent, and fair services. He urged employees to uphold honesty, professionalism, and national responsibility, stressing that transparency is essential for Pakistan’s development.

Power Suspension Schedule – December 9, 2025

According to an IESCO spokesperson, system maintenance and development work will be carried out on December 9, due to which power supply to multiple feeders across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum circles will remain temporarily suspended.

From 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM, power will be suspended in areas of:
Islamabad Circle – Waris Valley, E-7, T&T, Islamabad Club-I, Hospital, Tumair, Koral, Pindoriyan, F-8/M, G-9/1, I-10/1, Bela Road, D-12/1, Kurri, Isolation Hospital, PHA-I, Company Bagh, Barrian, Kotli Sattian, Pir Sohawa, Mangial, and others.

Rawalpindi City Circle – Ghousia Colony, 6th Road, New Mulpur, B.N. Hospital, Shakrial, AFoHS, Nawaz Colony, Muslim Town, Iqbal Road-II, Jamia Masjid, Bagh Sardaran, Zeeshan Colony, Peshawar Road, Kamalabad, I-16/4, Benazir Butto S, CDL Colony and adjoining areas.

Rawalpindi Cantt, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum circles will also experience outages on several feeders including Pakistan Railway, Adyala, Askari-14, Girja-1, Army Flats, Faisal Hills, Hassanabdal, Hameed, Mansar, Kamra, Jand-2, Khaur, Behkri, Dhudial City, Karsal, Katas, Lawa, Lilla Town, Saigalabad, Abbas Pura, Dina City, Sohawa Katchery, Islam Pura, and others.

From 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, additional shutdowns will occur in:
F-8/1, G-10/1, G-10/2, G-9/4, G-9 Express, G-8/2, GHQ, Zeeshan Colony, MH-1, MH-2, Haider Road, Hospital Road, NIASR, NLC, Borian, Chak Daulat, Abbas Pura and nearby areas.

IESCO management has apologized to consumers for the inconvenience, assuring that power will be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.
