IESCO Achieved Outstanding Performance Through Reforms, Digitalization: CEO
IESCO Records Outstanding Performance Across All Sectors in 2025
Islamabad: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) demonstrated exceptional performance across all sectors during 2025, in line with the vision of the federal government and the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), Chief Executive Officer IESCO Engineer Ch Khalid Mahmood said on Saturday.
According to IESCO management, the company ensured full implementation of reforms and directives issued by the Government of Pakistan, with a strong focus on digitalization and transparency in the power sector. To enhance consumer facilitation, IESCO successfully rolled out the “Apna Meter Apni Reading” mobile application across the region and upgraded its 118 call center services, following their inauguration by the Prime Minister and the Federal Minister for Energy.
CEO Engineer Ch Khalid Mahmood stated that modern technology and digital tools were extensively utilized to improve customer services, operations, construction, grid management, and other departments, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
He further said that under the ongoing anti-electricity theft campaign, fines exceeding Rs 550 million were imposed on power thieves, while outstanding dues of more than Rs 6.99 billion were recovered from defaulters. During the campaign, 3,185 electricity thieves were arrested with the help of law enforcement agencies.

To prevent electrical accidents and safeguard human lives, IESCO spent Rs 2.16 billion from its own resources and secured more than 10,000 hazardous electrical points. In addition, state-of-the-art customer facilitation centers were established to provide solutions to electricity-related issues under one roof.
As part of power sector reforms, the installation of advanced AMI meters has been completed by over 90 percent in Rawalpindi circles, marking a major milestone in the modernization of the electricity distribution system. To enhance workforce capacity, IESCO also conducted multiple training programs and provided modern tools, equipment, and protective gear to line staff to ensure their safety.
Reaffirming the company’s commitment, Engineer Ch Khalid Mahmood said IESCO would continue this momentum in 2026 to maintain its leading position in Pakistan’s power sector. He also paid tribute to the dedication and hard work of IESCO officers and staff for achieving these milestones.
