The tense confrontation involved PTI lawyers and Khawar Manika, Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband, resulting in a physical altercation outside the courtroom.
The courtroom drama intensified as Sessions Judge Shah Rukh Arjamand requested to transfer the appeals to another court.
In a letter to the Registrar of Islamabad High Court, the judge expressed concerns about delivering a fair judgment, citing previous disruptions by Khawar Manika and his legal team.
Judge Arjumand emphasized that it would not be appropriate to pass another no-confidence judgment under these circumstances.
Khawar Manika, who was present in the courtroom, requested permission to speak, stating, “I want to share my pain and suffering.” Judge Arjumand suggested he should instruct his lawyer to convey his concerns, but Manika insisted, “My lawyer cannot express my feelings.”
This exchange sparked a bitter verbal confrontation between Khawar Manika and PTI lawyer Naeem Panju, who demanded a contempt of court notice against Manika. The situation escalated as PTI lawyers surrounded Manika outside the courtroom, shouting slogans and physically attacking him.
