Iconic Urdu Bazaar in Lahore Engulfed by Blaze

Swift Response by Emergency Teams Extinguishes Lahore Warehouse Fire.

LAHORE: A blaze erupted in the basement of a five-story shopping plaza in Urdu Bazaar in Lahore, Punjab.

According to rescue officials on-site, ten emergency vehicles have been deployed to put out the flames.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained at present.

Meanwhile, no injuries have been reported thus far.

Earlier, a fire broke out late night on February 13 in a cylinder warehouse in Akbari Mandi neighbourhood located in Lahore, Punjab. It took thirteen emergency vehicles and 35 rescue personnel to put out the fire.

Similarly, a fire broke out in Saddar, Karachi on December 26, 2023. The fire spread to nearby shops and it took five firefighters and two water bowers to combat the flames.

Karachi faces wave of arrests, shootings, and accidents in single day

Karachi police arrested two suspected street criminals in the Karachi Zoological and Botanical Gardens on Thursday.

According to the police, firearms were recovered from the accused, with the law enforcers stating that the detained  were involved in multiple street crime incidents across the city.

Meanwhile, at least one person died and another injured when firing broke out in Shah Baig Line, Lyari. Rescue officials transported the wounded individual to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

In a separate incident near Maripur Truck Stand, Karachi, a traffic accident claimed the lives of two individuals on the spot. Rescue teams responded quickly and shifted the bodies to a local hospital for postmortem.

Similarly, a 6-year-old child sustained injuries from a stray bullet in Korangi Dhai Number in Karachi. Law enforcement officials promptly transferred the child to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
