ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The International Cricket Council has revised the schedule for the T20 World Cup semi-finals, outlining venue changes based on which teams qualify from the Super Eights stage.
According to the updated arrangements shared with stakeholders, the first semi-final could be staged either in Colombo or Kolkata, depending on specific qualification scenarios. If Pakistan secure a place in the last four, they will play Semi-Final One in Colombo on March 4.
England Crush Sri Lanka in Super Eights Opener
If Pakistan do not qualify but Sri Lanka advance and face a team other than India, then Sri Lanka will feature in Semi-Final One in Colombo. However, if neither Pakistan nor Sri Lanka reach the semi-finals, the first semi-final will be played in Kolkata, while the second will take place in Mumbai.
The ICC further clarified that if India qualify for the semi-finals, they will play their match in Mumbai. The only exception would be if India face Pakistan — in that case, the high-profile clash would be moved to Colombo.
