ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) is reportedly concerned after Pakistan refused to play against India in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
According to reports, the ICC has begun efforts to persuade Pakistan to reconsider its decision. The cricket governing body is expected to engage in back-channel talks with Pakistan to resolve the issue.
PCB withdraws from T20 World Cup match vs India
The ICC has reportedly assigned Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja, who represents the Singapore Cricket Association, to lead these discussions. He has been tasked with communicating with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and acting as a mediator to convince Pakistan to participate in the match.
Indian media sources have described Khawaja’s role as a peace-maker in the current situation, aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the T20 World Cup.
