ICC announces Player of the Month for July 2025

The 25-year-old Gill won the award after his brilliant batting in the Test series against England.

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council ( ICC) has announced the Player of the Month for July 2025.

India’s Test captain Shubman Gill has been named the Player of the Month for July. The 25-year-old Gill won the award after his brilliant batting in the Test series against England.

In three Test matches, he scored 754 runs at an average of 75, including a double century and two centuries. He played innings of 269 and 161 in the Edgbaston Test, leading India to a historic 336-run victory.

During this time, he became the first Indian captain to score a Test double century in England and the second captain to achieve this feat abroad. He also broke the old records of Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar.

Shubman Gill is the first male player to win the ICC Player of the Month award four times. He called it a major achievement in his career and as a captain.

The ICC nominated England’s Ben Stokes and South Africa’s Wayne Mulder for Player of the Month along with Shubman Gill.
