Moscow: In a remarkable display of talent and leadership, Syed Muhammad Sarim Gillani, a senior student at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), represented Pakistan at the prestigious World Youth Festival held in Sochi, Russia. The festival, which saw an impressive turnout of over 20,000 participants from 188 countries, proved to be a platform for young minds to showcase their innovative ideas and solutions.

Sarim, leading his team “UCITY,” participated in the highly competitive “Creating your own youth city” competition, which attracted over 3000 applicants worldwide. Against stiff competition, Sarim and his team managed to secure a spot among the Top 50 finalists, earning accolades for their ingenuity and creativity.

As the “Hero of the Festival,” Sarim was bestowed with the opportunity to deliver an appreciation speech at the official closing ceremony of the World Youth Festival. Sharing his enriching experience and insights, Sarim graced the stage alongside notable figures, including the President of Russia, Mr. Vladimir Putin himself.
